Package api is branchd's REST control plane: a thin JSON layer over the engine.

Package apiclient is a thin typed client for branchd's REST API, used by the CLI in server mode (PGOVERLAY_SERVER / --server).

Package cli wires cobra commands to the engine (local mode) or to a running branchd via the REST API (server mode: --server / PGOVERLAY_SERVER).

Package cow plans copy-on-write layer layouts for branch containers.

Package diffutil is a small pure-Go line diff producing unified-style hunks.

Package engine orchestrates branch lifecycle as sagas over the registry, cow planner, and runtime driver.

Package ghook is a small GitHub webhook receiver that maps pull-request lifecycle events to pgoverlay branches (branch-per-PR): opened/reopened → ensure branch gh-<repo-key>-pr-<number> exists, synchronize → ensure (and optionally reset), closed → destroy.

Package ha implements branchd's optional high-availability leader election.

Package metrics owns pgoverlay's Prometheus instrumentation: a private *prometheus.Registry (never the global default) holding the operation, reaper and reconcile series, plus a Collector that, on every scrape, reports the live branch/source counts by state from the registry.

Package pgctl runs Postgres-side operations (seeding, readiness) through the runtime driver — pgoverlay never touches data files from the host.

Package pgproxy is a Postgres wire-protocol router.

Package runtime abstracts where branch instances run (Docker now, K8s in P3).
