unpaywall

Overview ¶

Package unpaywall resolves a DOI to a legal open-access PDF location, as the second opinion when the OA locations from OpenAlex come up empty.

This package and those OA locations are the only routes to a PDF. Never scrape a publisher site, never use anyone's institutional access, and never follow a link that lands behind a paywall. That is a permanent line, not a v1 limitation.
