Overview

Package systemextensions provides a fluent Go API over the macOS SystemExtensions framework.

Construction

New… functions create objects; each With… method sets one property and returns its receiver, so configuration calls chain. A <Type>FromID constructor adopts an Objective-C object obtained elsewhere.

Lifecycle

A wrapper releases its Objective-C object automatically once the garbage collector finds it unreachable. Call Release to relinquish the reference deterministically (for objects holding scarce resources); Release is idempotent, and afterwards the wrapper's methods are no-ops returning zero values.

Errors

Failing calls return errors carrying the Objective-C error domain and code. Match them against this package's Err… sentinel values with errors.Is, or inspect domain, code, and Apple's prose via errors.As with *errkit.Error.

Delegates

A …Delegate interface is implemented by a plain Go value and installed with the matching With… setter; the package builds the Objective-C delegate object behind the scenes. Optional protocol methods are separate one-method …Handler interfaces — implement the ones you need on the same value and the framework calls them too.
