Overview

Package dataframe is a require()-able host module providing a column- oriented, pandas-style tabular structure — the central abstraction for most data-science work in LuaScript. A DataFrame holds named columns of equal length; the methods below cover the everyday verbs: selecting and dropping columns, filtering and sorting rows, deriving new columns, grouping with aggregation, summary statistics, and CSV interchange.

Construction:

df = dataframe.new({ age = {30, 25}, name = {"a", "b"} })  -- column map
df = dataframe.from_rows({ {age=30, name="a"}, ... })       -- row records
df = dataframe.from_csv("people.csv")                       -- header + auto numbers

Every transforming method returns a NEW DataFrame; the receiver is never mutated, so chains like df:filter(p):select({"x"}):sort("x") are safe.

func RegisterDataFramePreload(v *vm.VM)

RegisterDataFramePreload installs the loader under package.preload.

Types

type DataFrame

type DataFrame struct {
	// contains filtered or unexported fields
}
