Overview ¶
nova-wake is one blocking call at the attention layer, described in docs/SPEC-WAKE.md. A window that coordinates other lines spends its turns on a clock: it sleeps, wakes, looks at three places, finds nothing, and sleeps again. Every one of those cycles is a model turn, and a turn that learns nothing is the most expensive kind of nothing there is. This is that cycle inverted -- one call that returns the moment something the window cares about has changed, and otherwise at a deadline the caller named, so the window pays one turn per CHANGE rather than one turn per TICK.
It watches three sources -- a bus inbox, the checks on a set of entries, and report files written by other lines -- and it says what moved. It does not act on any of them. EVERYTHING IT PRINTS IS DATA: a note it relays is not an instruction, a failing check is not a verdict about whose fault it is, and a report file is prose somebody else wrote. A watcher that acted on what it saw would be a window with no person in it.
Exit 0 the watch ran -- either something changed or the deadline arrived. Exit 2 could not run. There is no 1: nothing here asserts anything, so nothing here can say NO.
