kvweb

A web-based GUI for browsing and editing Valkey/Redis databases. Inspired by pgweb.

Single binary. Go backend with embedded Svelte frontend.

Install

Download the latest binary from GitHub Releases, extract it, and add it to your PATH.

Or build from source (requires Go, Node.js, pnpm):

git clone https://github.com/natrimmer/kvweb
cd kvweb
build

Usage

kvweb [flags]
Flag Default Description
-url localhost:6379 Valkey/Redis server address
-password Server password (prefer VALKEY_PASSWORD env var)
-db 0 Database number
-host localhost HTTP listen address
-port 8080 HTTP listen port
-readonly false Disable write operations
-prefix Only show keys matching this prefix
-disable-flush true Block FLUSHDB even in write mode
-max-keys 0 Limit SCAN count per request (0 = no limit)
-notifications false Auto-enable keyspace notifications for live updates
-open false Open browser on start
-dev false Skip serving embedded frontend (API + WebSocket only)

Versioning

kvweb uses SemVer with git tags as the source of truth. The version and commit hash are embedded at build time via git describe.

Dark Mode

Dark mode is available but still a work in progress. Enable it via the browser console:

localStorage.setItem('kvweb:darkmode', '1')

Refresh the page. A theme toggle will appear in Server Settings.
