Overview ¶

Command docs-html renders the public documentation site from its Markdown sources. Markdown is the only prose authority; the checked-in HTML exists because the current GitHub Pages setup publishes docs/ as static files.

Markdown sits beside the HTML it produces, so a source path is the published URL and there is nothing to keep in step. The manifest below adds only what the file system cannot say: which section a page belongs to, how it is described on the handbook index, and which retired URLs still redirect to it.
