OWASP LLM Vulnerability Validation

This package provides validation methods for detecting and analyzing OWASP LLM vulnerabilities in both prompts and responses. The validation methods are designed to be used with the existing OWASP testing framework.

Overview

The validation package includes:

  • A base validator interface that all validators implement
  • Specific validators for each OWASP LLM vulnerability type
  • A validator registry for managing and using multiple validators
  • A validator factory for creating and registering validators
  • Comprehensive test suite to verify validator functionality
  • Example code demonstrating how to use the validators

Supported Vulnerability Types

The following OWASP LLM vulnerability types are currently supported:

  1. Prompt Injection (LLM01) - Detects attempts to manipulate the model through malicious prompts
  2. Insecure Output Handling (LLM02) - Identifies potentially harmful content in responses
  3. Indirect Prompt Injection (LLM03) - Detects attempts to inject prompts through external content
  4. Data Leakage (LLM07) - Identifies potential leakage of sensitive or personal data

Validation Results

Each validation result includes:

  • Vulnerable - Whether the prompt or response is vulnerable
  • VulnerabilityType - The type of vulnerability detected
  • Confidence - The confidence level of the detection (0.0 to 1.0)
  • Details - Additional information about the vulnerability
  • Location - Where in the prompt or response the vulnerability was detected
  • Severity - The severity of the vulnerability
  • Remediation - Suggestions for fixing the vulnerability
  • RawData - Additional data specific to the vulnerability type

Integration with OWASP Testing Framework

The validation methods can be integrated with the existing OWASP testing framework:
