Overview

Pusher is a utility to push saved image archives to an image registry, based on directives given in a json configuration file.

The configuration file contains a list of component container archives, each of which is associated to a list of tags it should have in the target container registry.

For example:

"alpine3.21-x86_64": [
    "alpine3.21-x86_64-%",
    "x86_64-%"
],

This says the archive identified by alpine3.21-x86_64 should be pushed to the container registry with tags alpine3.21-x86_64-% and x86_64-%. The % is used as a wildcard to be replaced at runtime with a tag fragment (passed as a command line parameter) shared across all images being pushed. In the CI/CD pipeline, these fragments are used to insert "bleeding", "latest", or the sha for the commit as part of the tag being pushed.

Additionally, the -gen-indexes command line parameter can be passed to request that image indexes are auto-created based on the tag data for the images being pushed. For more information, see [generateIndexes].
