Overview

Command testgitserver runs a local Git HTTP server for testing.

This command starts an HTTP server that serves Git repositories using git-http-backend, allowing you to test Git protocol operations locally.

Usage:

testgitserver --repo-root <path> [options]

Examples:

# Serve repositories from /tmp/repos on port 8080
testgitserver --repo-root /tmp/repos --port 8080

# Use a specific address
testgitserver --repo-root /tmp/repos --addr localhost:9000

The server expects repositories to be in the format:

<repo-root>/org/repo.git/

For example, if repo-root is /tmp/repos, you can clone:

git clone http://localhost:8080/org/repo.git
